Kerala Education Minister V Sivankutty has suggested whether summer holidays should be done in June and July. He said that when he went to school, many teachers and students supported this suggestion. However, it is not easy to implement this change, as it will require a change in the rules. The minister said that before taking any decision on this, discussions will be held with teachers, parents, and government officials.

Education Minister Sivankutty has also made some other announcements with this. This includes giving Braille textbooks to visually impaired students in classes 11 and 12. Till now, these books were available only till class 10. Along with this, the government will also issue a guidebook on the rules and court orders related to reservations for disabled students. He also assured on the problem related to teachers' salaries. The minister said that some temporary teachers in Malappuram district are getting their salaries late. This problem will be solved soon.
