In fact, private medical colleges have indicated that if the current order of the government is fully implemented, then 30 to 40 lakh rupees can be charged from the students for the remaining 50% seats.

The Bihar government has ordered that only low fees like government medical colleges should be charged for 50 percent of the seats in private medical colleges. That is, every year one will get a chance to study MBBS for only about 1.2 to 1.5 lakh rupees. This rule will be applicable on 675 seats out of about 1350 MBBS seats in a total of 9 private medical colleges.

Thousands of students are going to benefit from this decision but now the college administration has started opposing it. They say that if less fees are charged on half the seats, then they will be forced to charge heavy fees on the remaining half seats, due to which students may be forced to pay a total of 30 to 40 lakh rupees in 5 years of study.

Will the fees be expensive?

This will directly affect those students who will not get a seat on government fees. Already the fees for management quota in private colleges range from 8 to 16 lakh rupees per annum and now it can become even more expensive. That is, medical studies can be limited only to the rich class.

Doctor at low cost

However, for the students who will be selected on low-fee seats, this will be no less than a boon. They can get a chance to become a doctor at a low cost. Especially the students of rural areas, economically weaker section (EWS) and OBC students can get a big benefit from this policy.

What did private medical colleges say

Private medical colleges say that if the government wants to fill seats at such a low fee, then they should also provide financial assistance. Otherwise, the financial condition of the colleges may deteriorate and it will become difficult to run the institute.
