Second-Hand Car Buying Tips: It's important to check a few things before buying a used car. A small oversight can land you in big trouble. So, keep these things in mind before buying.

In today's times, buying a car has become not just a hobby but a necessity. Everyone wants to own a vehicle, making travel easy and comfortable. However, due to the rising prices of new cars, many people consider buying a second-hand car a better option.

If you're considering buying a used car, it's important to keep a few things in mind. First, check the car's documents, including the RC, insurance papers, pollution certificate, and service record to ensure there are no legal issues or outstanding dues.

If the car was purchased on a loan, be sure to get a copy of the NOC (No Objection Certificate). Also, carefully examine the car's physical condition. Just because it looks shiny on the outside doesn't mean it's in good condition.

Check the engine sound, brakes, suspension, and tire condition thoroughly. Before buying a second-hand car, take a test drive to determine smooth driving. Pay close attention to the car's mileage. If the car has been driven excessively, you may incur higher maintenance costs in the future.

Recently, cases of tampering with vehicle odometers are also being reported. Therefore, be sure to verify the mileage at a service center. The car's service history is also very important. Check if the car has received regular service.

This gives you an idea of how well the car has been maintained and which parts have been replaced. Don't forget to transfer the car's insurance. After purchasing a used car, the insurance should not remain in the previous owner's name.

Go to the RTO and fill out a form and transfer the insurance to your name. This will prevent any problems in the event of an accident. Don't make hasty decisions on the car's price. Compare rates from different dealers. Keeping these things in mind will prevent losses.
