Gmail Tips: Google gives its Gmail users 15GB free storage which is shared with Google Drive and Google Photos. Due to the continuous promotional mails, receipts and newsletters, the inbox gets filled quickly and storage full alerts often start coming. This is most annoying when you are waiting for an important mail. Deleting each mail separately takes a lot of time but if you use the bulk delete option, you can easily free up storage.
Delete all promotional emails with one search
First of all open Gmail in the browser and go to the inbox.
Type “Unsubscribe” in the search bar and press Enter.
Now select all mails by clicking on the checkbox on the top left.
Click on the trash icon.
Pro tip: If you see the option “Select all conversations that match this search”, you can click on it to delete everything at once. In the same way, you can free up space by deleting a lot of mails from the Promotions and Social tabs.
Delete mails from selected senders or time periods
If you want to delete mails from a specific sender or time period, use the search query:
Mails from a specific sender: from:sender_email_address
Mails sent to a specific person: to:sender_email_address
Mails received after a certain time: after:2023-11-01
You can combine these queries to filter mails according to your needs and then send them to the Trash.
How to get back deleted mails
If you have accidentally deleted an important mail, don’t panic. All deleted mails in Gmail remain in the Trash folder for 30 days. During this time, you can easily restore them. You can use this feature from anywhere, be it mobile, laptop, tablet or desktop. If your Gmail is getting full again and again, then by adopting these tips, you can delete thousands of emails in minutes and keep space free for important emails.
