Aadhaar Card New Rules: Changes are going to be made to the Aadhaar card process from November 1st. If you want to make any updates, it's important to know the new rules.
Aadhaar Card New Rules: The Aadhaar card is now required for almost every important task in the country. From admission to school or college to availing the benefits of any government scheme, it has become the most important document as proof of identity and address.
Sometimes, information recorded in Aadhaar, such as name, address, mobile number, or biometric details, may need to be changed. Therefore, UIDAI is revising the update rules effective November 1st, 2025. Those updating their Aadhaar will now be charged according to the new rates. Let us tell you how much will be charged for each update.
Higher fees will be required from November 1st.
According to the new UIDAI rules, starting November 1st, updating the name, address, or mobile number on your Aadhaar card will cost ₹75. For fingerprints, iris, or photo updates, the fee will be ₹125. Biometric updates will be completely free for children aged 5 to 7 and 15 to 17. Online document updates are currently free until June 14, 2026.
After that, however, a fee of ₹75 will be charged for this service at the center. ₹40 for reprinting your Aadhaar card, and ₹700 for the first person for home enrollment services. ₹350 for each additional person at the same address. Therefore, if you need to make any changes, it's best to complete them online in a timely manner.
Linking PAN with Aadhaar is mandatory.
UIDAI has issued a notification to every PAN card holder to link their PAN with Aadhaar by December 31, 2025. If you fail to do so by the deadline, your PAN will become inactive from January 1, 2026. This will prevent you from filing income tax returns or using the PAN card for any financial transactions.
The government has taken this step to prevent fraud and tax evasion. Therefore, those who have not yet linked their Aadhaar and PAN should complete the process soon. You can easily do this by visiting www.incometax.gov.in or uidai.gov.in.
