In a rather surprising team-up, Mohit Suri joined hands with Yash Raj Films earlier this year to deliver Saiyaara, which went on to become the biggest romantic blockbuster of the year.
Starring fresh faces Aneet Padda and Ahaan Panday, the film struck a chord with audiences and reaffirmed Suri’s hold on the romance genre. Riding high on that success, the director and the production giant are all set to reunite once again, this time for another love story.

A Pinkvilla report stated, “After the historic success of Saiyaara, Mohit Suri and Yash Raj Films are reuniting for the second time. Mohit was flooded with offers from all across the industry, with producers willing to splurge pay cheques of unheard amounts. However, Mohit and YRF are continuing their creative partnership, capitalising on the success of Saiyaara.”
Similar to Saiyaara, the upcoming yet-to-be-titled project will also be backed by Akshaye Widhani as producer and presented by Aditya Chopra under the Yash Raj Films banner, ensuring the same big-screen polish and scale that the studio is known for.
According to the source, the central storyline of the film has already been finalised, and Mohit Suri, along with his team of writers, is now working on shaping it into a complete screenplay.

The report further stated, “Mohit Suri and YRF are committed to recreating magic on the big screen. It’s another sweeping romantic film that will explore a brand new world in this genre. Like Saiyaara, Mohit Suri will again make this a musical saga. Mohit & Akshaye are committed to bringing back love stories in conversation among audiences, and Aditya Chopra is also focused on exploring this genre further. This Mohit and YRF combo is one to watch out for.”
The Mohit Suri directorial is slated to begin filming by mid-2026, with the casting process set to kick off in early 2025.
“The casting process will begin once the first draft of the film is locked. Aditya Chopra, Mohit Suri and Akshay Widhani have principally agreed on an idea and are now set to embark on the journey of developing the same into a screenplay,” concluded the report.
