Despite this, Raja alleged that a hidden romance bloomed off-screen. In a conversation with Pinkvilla Hindi Rush, Raja revealed that he had once visited Shweta on the sets of the show and found her and Cezanne sitting alone in a car, which he interpreted as evidence of a personal relationship.

Raja admitted that although he suspected Shweta’s extramarital involvement, he never found the courage to confront her directly. According to him, whenever he raised concerns, the narrative would quickly turn against him, with accusations about his drinking habits being used as a shield to deflect blame. Despite being insulted and emotionally distanced, Raja claimed he kept quiet for the sake of their daughter, Palak, enduring emotional turmoil in silence rather than risk disrupting her upbringing.

Raja also shared that Shweta's career success created further emotional distance between them. He recalled how the massive popularity of Kasautii Zindagii Kay altered their dynamic. With fame came financial comfort, but it also brought a change in Shweta’s behavior, he alleged. He expressed feelings of being pushed to the sidelines in both her personal and professional journey. He described feeling like an extra in his own marriage, as Shweta began to manage her work independently and, according to him, developed a condescending attitude. He felt alienated and reduced to a mere spectator as she rose in her career.

"I felt like I was a background dancer. There was too much attitude in her when she became successful; she stopped treating me like a person,” he said.

When Cezanne Broke Silence On On-Set Tensions

Cezanne Khan, for his part, has previously acknowledged the strained equation between him and Shweta during the shooting of Kasautii Zindagii Kay. In an earlier interview with The Times of India, he confirmed that there was a phase when the two actors were not on talking terms. Although they portrayed romantic leads on-screen, their real-life relationship was reportedly distant and cold. He emphasized, however, that both maintained professionalism throughout and did not let personal differences interfere with their performance.
