After delivering back-to-back hits in theatres, Rashmika Mandanna continues to stay in the spotlight with Thamma, her latest horror comedy alongside Ayushmann Khurrana. Released on October 21, 2025, during Diwali, the film was one of the year’s most awaited titles. Not only did it bring a fresh pairing of Ayushmann and Rashmika to screens, but it also marked the next instalment in Maddock Films’ expanding Horror Comedy Universe, following the blockbuster success of Stree 2. The film is gearing up for its digital debut now after its theatrical run.

Streaming details of Thamma

The Aditya Sarpotdar directorial will soon be making its digital debut. Thamma is set to stream on Amazon Prime Video, which holds its post-theatrical streaming rights, as mentioned in the opening credits. While the platform has yet to make an official announcement, according to 123Telugu report, the film will begin streaming from December 16, 2025, in Hindi and Telugu.

Early buzz also indicates that the movie may be available on rental access in the first week of December before becoming part of the regular Prime Video catalogue later in the month.

Thamma stars Ayushmann Khurrana as Alok, a young journalist whose life takes an eerie turn after a near-death experience. He is rescued by Tadaka, played by Rashmika Mandanna, mysterious vampire from the ancient Betal clan.

Their supernatural connection turns romantic, but Alok’s fate changes once again when he becomes a vampire himself. Together, they must confront the evil Yakshasan, a menacing ancestor of the Betal sect, who threatens to unleash chaos upon humanity. The film received mixed review from audience and critics alike.

The film also features Paresh Rawal, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Faisal Malik, and Geeta Agarwal Sharma in pivotal roles, with Varun Dhawan making a surprise cameo appearance as his popular character from Bhediya. The music has been composed by the duo Sachin–Jigar, and the film is produced by Dinesh Vijan under the banner of Maddock Films.

At the box office, Thamma has been a solid performer. As per trade reports by Sacnilk.com, the film is expected to wrap up its theatrical run with a total close to Rs 130 crore, making it Ayushmann Khurrana’s third-highest-grossing film. While some critics felt it could have achieved higher numbers given the popularity of the franchise, Thamma still managed to win over audiences with its humour and unique vampire twist.

By bringing new supernatural elements into its established horror-comedy framework, Thamma expands the Maddock cinematic universe in an exciting direction. Stay tuned for more updates!
