It is said that a child's childhood is like clay, moldable into any shape. If children aren't taught certain essential things between the ages of one and seven or eight, they can veer off the path of misguided learning. Many parents are worried about what is essential for their children and what they should be taught. Premanand Maharaj has allayed these concerns by explaining what a child's daily routine should be and what can make them great.

Teach These Things From Childhood
Premanand Maharaj explained that a child is like a plant; when they are young, they can be tied to straighten them, but once they grow up, they cannot be corrected. Therefore, children should be given good values first. The things they see around them leave an impression on their minds.
Instill the habit of never backing down from the truth in childhood, and the child will not veer from the path.
It is important to teach children that elders should be respected. Having respect for every person makes a person great.
Time management is essential for children. From childhood, explain to them that there is a time for everything; this will prevent them from becoming lazy.
Teach your child to share things, and teach them that it is not right to eat alone or keep everything to themselves. Sharing things with the needy is true humanity. This will prevent your child from becoming selfish.
Teach them that defeat is not a sign of defeat, but a lesson to be learned from. If they lose a game or fail an exam, they should not panic but try again with hard work and dedication.
Befriending books daily, learning new things, and asking questions—if these habits are instilled from the beginning, a child will progress in the light of knowledge throughout their life.

What should a daily routine be?
Regarding the daily routine of school-going children, Premananda Maharaj said that a routine should be established for waking up in the morning. From childhood, one should wake up at least an hour before sunrise. The first thing to do is to bow to the earth, then sit for five minutes and recite the names of five saints. After this, one should bow to the parents. After this, one should drink half a liter of warm water and then go to the toilet. After this, one should do pranayama and exercise for a while. After doing all this, one should study with full concentration.
