This year, after watching a comedy film like 'Housefull 5', I went to watch 'Son of Sardaar 2' with great courage. Even before watching it, I had decided that I would not watch it as a reviewer but would watch it as a viewer who only goes to enjoy the film.
In the first 15 minutes, while the film develops, there is no comedy scene. Then some comedy scenes come in bits and pieces, some were good and some were vulgar, but for how long could I convince myself? As long as I was watching as a viewer, I kept ignoring everything, but as soon as I started thinking like a reviewer, know what I found...

A film without a screenplay, a director wasting the talent of Deepak Dobriyal and Sanjay Mishra.
Yes, if anyone made this film worth watching, it was Ravi Kishan. It would not be wrong to say that he does not let the absence of Sanjay Dutt be felt in the film, and one wants to see and hear him more than Ajay Devgan. Let us tell you how the film is…
Story
The story is about Jassi (Ajay Devgan), who lives in Punjab, whose wife Dimple (Neeru Bajwa) goes to London after marriage and starts working. Jassi lives here with his mother and is waiting for his visa. Jassi gets his visa and reaches London, where as soon as he meets him, his wife asks him for a divorce and a share in the property. On the other hand, Rabia (Mrinal Thakur) and her friends Danish (Chunky Pandey), Gul (Deepak Dobriyal), Mahvash (Kubra Sait) and Saba (Roshni Walia) are also living in London. Now, how does Jassi meet all of them, and how do they all get connected to Raja's (Ravi Kishan) family? You will know all this by watching the film.
Acting
Ajay Devgan is as good as ever throughout the film. There is nothing new in his work. When Mrinal enters, she is using abusive language along with Punjabi. Gradually, he controlled himself and acted well. Everyone was saying about Ravi Kishan that how can a Bihari actor play the role of a Punjabi. Hey, brother, this man is the life of the film. I am happy that sooner or later.. his talent is being used better in Bollywood. It is fun to watch Tony-Titu (Mukul Dev and Vindu Dara Singh). It is especially nice to watch the late Mukul Dev. He has played this character with great innocence.
Chunky Pandey, uncle of Ahan Pandey from 'Saiyara' and Kubra Sait, are the weakest links of this film. They are not bearable at all. If anyone is pitied in the whole film, it is Deepak Dobriyal. He was wrongly implicated with Chunky, Kubra, and Roshni. Still, he has acted brilliantly and looks so stylish in the whole film.
Otherwise, Neeru Bajwa, Sharat Saxena, and Dolly Ahluwalia's work is fine.
Direction
The film is directed by Vijay Kumar Arora, who is a big name in the Punjabi film industry. In the year 2018, he directed the film 'Harjeeta', which won the National Award. He has also done cinematography for many big Hindi films, and now, for the first time, he has directed a Hindi film. Only one scene in the entire film is a good comic scene where the director has caught the pulse of the Indian audience and garnered applause and whistles by insulting Pakistan.
Otherwise, Vijay had such a big star cast in this film that some characters seemed to be forcibly stuffed in. Even if they were not there, the film would not have been affected. Instead, it would have been better if Vijay had worked a little on the story. He was confused throughout the film as to what to show? In the climax scene, it is not understood whether the director just wants to do senseless comedy. Or does he want to give any message? If there is a message, then what is it? In the process of showing the extramarital affairs of every character, he got so confused that in the end, he forgot what to show.

Music
The songs put a break on the little comedy that is going on in the film. They are nothing special to listen to and are also wasted visually. The song 'Pehla tu.. dooja tu..', which was shot with about 200 foreign background artists, is so funny that you can't even imagine. Neither Ajay nor the background artists are dancing in this song. Only the title song is worth listening to, which is taken from the original film.
Watch or not
If you have the talent to leave your brain at home and watch a film in a theatre, then this film is for you. You will enjoy it to the fullest. You will even clap and whistle at some scenes. Whether to watch it with the family or not, decide based on how modern your parents and children are. It is better if you have low expectations from a film which is shot, edited and released in a year. Well yes, there is a surprise cameo at the end of the film (before the credit scene)… don't leave the theatre early.
