Chennai Super Kings star MS Dhoni gave a witty reply to a fan's request of returning to play the next edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The Ranchi-born cricketer responded to the fan's request as he cited his knee pain, saying, 'Ghutne mein jo dard hota hai, uska take care kaun karega'.
The last few IPL seasons have been building up to be Dhoni's last due to his increasing age and the inability to play as well as before due to fitness issues. Having played all the seasons thus far, the legendary cricketer's return for IPL 2026 remains highly doubtful, with his current age being 44.
Speaking at an event, the keeper-batter said:
"Abhi nahin pata khelunga ki nahin khelunga (I don't know if I'll play or not), so I have time to decide, December ke aas paas. So, I'll take a couple of months, then I'll decide."
With a fan screaming, "You have to play, sir", Dhoni replied wittily:
"Ghutne mein jo dard hota hai uska take care kaun karega." (What about my knee pain? Who will take care of that?)
