Mumbai: According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Mumbai city and suburbs can expect light to moderate rain on 10th August 2025, accompanied by generally cloudy skies and potential thundershowers. Key areas for expected rainfall include South Mumbai, areas like Marine Drive, Colaba, Fort, and Gateway of India will see light to moderate rains, with strong winds near the coast.

In the Western Suburbs, isolated rain showers are probable in Andheri, Borivali, Malad, and Goregaon. The Eastern Suburbs will experience more significant rainfall, particularly in Ghatkopar, Chembur, Kurla, and Bhandup in the afternoon or evening.

Low-lying areas such as Hindmata, Andheri Subway, and BKC may face waterlogging, necessitating caution. Navi Mumbai and Thane, including Vashi, Nerul, and Koparkhairane, will likely receive light rains.

Weather conditions indicate southwest winds at 14-22 km/hr. Increased wind speeds are expected with rain, alongside a high tide of 4.36 metres at 00:13 on August 10, warranting vigilance in coastal regions. A potential low-pressure area forming in the Bay of Bengal may escalate the chances of heavy rain at select locations. Citizens should be cautious of waterlogging while traveling and check weather updates before beach trips; drivers must exercise care in low visibility conditions.

Humidity levels will remain high, contributing to a sticky atmosphere. The maximum UV index is 3 (moderate), advising caution when outdoors. Morning temperatures will range from 26-28°C with cloudy skies and light showers. In the afternoon, moderate rain with thunderstorms may raise temperatures to 29°C, while evening temperatures are expected to drop to 26°C with continuing rainfall.

A yellow alert has been issued for Maharashtra due to anticipated heavy rain on 9 and 10 August, especially in the Konkan and Mumbai regions. Rain can positively influence agriculture but may disrupt daily life and traffic. Citizens should carry umbrellas or raincoats and avoid risky travel through monsoon-prone areas.
