In a true rags-to-riches story of grit and determination, Sushant Suresh Sakpal, a native of Khed, Ratnagiri, and a resident of Kalyan, has defied all odds to rise from extreme financial hardship to becoming a Class-A gazetted officer at the ISRO. Born into a financially struggling family, Sakpal's father worked tirelessly in the railways while his mother took up babysitting jobs to make ends meet. With an elder brother and sister to support, he understood the value of hard work early in life. He attended a municipal school in Kalyan, where his academic brilliance shone despite limited resources. “My parents’ sacrifices and my family’s struggles kept me going. I hope my journey motivates every underprivileged student to believe that no dream is too big, no hurdle too high,” he said.
His extraordinary rise—from a humble municipal school student to a key contributor in India’s premier space research organization—stands as a testament to the power of resilience, hard work, and unwavering ambition.
