CM Omar Abdullah News: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah expressed grief over the Kishtwar disaster and expressed disappointment over not declaring full statehood. He raised many questions before the central government.

The 79th Independence Day was celebrated with great pomp in Jammu and Kashmir. In Srinagar, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah hoisted the flag at Bakshi Stadium and celebrated the festival of independence. The program was shortened due to the disaster caused by a cloudburst in Kishtwar yesterday (Thursday, 14 August). However, in this program, CM Omar Abdullah expressed regret by referring to the speech given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from the Red Fort.
Actually, the Omar Abdullah government was expecting that PM Modi would give back the full statehood status to Jammu and Kashmir from the Red Fort today. However, PM Modi did not mention anything like this in his 103-minute speech. Expressing regret over this, CM Omar Abdullah said, "The last time I stood here, I was the Chief Minister of a state. We had our own constitution, we had our own identity. But today we are waiting for our identity. I don't know why this is being delayed?"

Omar Abdullah said, "We were waiting for a big announcement in Delhi today, but we kept waiting. Nothing came. I am not hopeless, but the light of hope has diminished somewhat."
'What mistake have we committed'- Omar Abdullah
Asking questions to the central government, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah further said, "Jammu and Kashmir was promised to be equal to the rest of the states of the country, but are we equal today? I am asking this question. If it is not so, then what mistake have we committed?"
CM Omar Abdullah spoke on Kishtwar natural disaster.
CM Omar Abdullah said, "60 people were killed in the incident that happened in Kishtwar yesterday. More than 100 people are injured, while no clear figure has been received about the missing people yet. There will be a thorough investigation of the incident and it will be seen where negligence has occurred." Omar Abdullah also said that information about the weather was already available, then how did this incident happen? We will have to answer this question.
