Arne Slot insists Liverpool will be in a position to sign players before the deadline if they can get the ones they want.
The Reds boss wouldn’t be drawn on the club’s pursuit of Alexander Isak and insists he’s happy with his squad if they don’t land any more new players before Monday night. Liverpool are hoping to sign Newcastle forward Isak and are looking at a deal for Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi to bolster their squad.
Slot said: “I think I said after Monday, I could make a sub to impact the game. As always we try to sign players to help us but there are no reasons to think after two games we need more.
“We will always try to strengthen if it’s the right player at the right price. There are only a few days [left] so let’s see. And there are only three or four days to go now, so let's see if we do something.”

Rio Ngumoha, 16, came off the bench to win the game at Newcastle on Monday night as Liverpool came through a hostile atmosphere following their pursuit of Isak, who has been on strike this summer trying to force a move to Anfield.
Newcastle have now finally landed a new No.9 as they close in on £65million Stuttgart striker Nick Woltemade. That has given belief on Merseyside that the Magpies will finally entertain offers for Isak. Newcastle rejected a £110m bid from the Reds earlier this summer.
Liverpool have yet to return with a second offer but that will be expected to come before Monday’s deadline. Slot wouldn’t go into how the acquisition of a striker by Newcastle could help his club’s chase for Isak.
He said: “Newcastle, if it’s true, and I have no reason to not believe what you are saying, are about to sign a new No.9. That’s very nice for Eddie [Howe] as Anthony Gordon is suspended and [Alexander] Isak has not been training with the team, so it’s nice to have a new No.9.”
Liverpool host Arsenal on Sunday in a big early clash in the Premier League title race. Slot is hopeful both Conor Bradley, who returned as a sub at St James’ Park, and Alexis Mac Allister could be fit for the game at Anfield.
He said: “The positive is that Conor Bradley, only had one or two training sessions before the Newcastle game and he has trained all this week There are two days to go. Alexis has started training too. I don’t think we had any injuries coming out of the game. And Virgil [van Dijk] is also okay, which is maybe the main thing you would question.”
