Arnold Schwarzenegger joy as love child welcomed into the family at Patrick's wedding

Arnold Schwarzenegger's love-child was seemingly on the guestlist of his half-brother's wedding over the weekend - marking a new chapter for the famous family 14 years on from the paternity scandal that rocked the world.

Joseph Baena, who was born as the result of a secret affair between his mother, housekeeper Mildred Patricia Baena, and the former Governor of California, was one of the famous faces in the crowd as Patrick Schwarzenegger finally tied the knot with Abby Champion.

Actor Patrick, 31, married his bride in in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho on Saturday after a 10-year courtship. The groom's White Lotus co-star Jason Isaacs and his family were in attendance to see him walk down the aisle, including his parents Arnold and Maria Shriver and his sister Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt and her husband, Chris Pratt.

Despite a report from TMZ on Monday claiming that 27-year-old bodybuilder Joseph - who is the same age as his half-brother Christopher Schwarzenegger - didn't make the guest list, it looks like Joseph very much did make the cut.

Following a less than ideal introduction to his half-siblings, Joseph now seems to be very much part of the fold. He was snapped laughing and joking as he mingled with fellow guests at Patrick's wedding over the weekend.

It previously appeared that Joseph did not share a close bond with his half-siblings, as seen when they all attended their dad's FUBAR season two premiere in June without him. Arnold was photographed with his four children from Maria, and later posed separately with Joseph.

Joseph's paternity caused a nationwide scandal in 2011. The 27-year-old, who has followed his father into the world of bodybuilding and acting, only discovered that Arnold was his dad when he was 13-years-old.

Terminator star turned politician Arnold, 78, has daughters Katherine, 35, Christina, 34, and sons Patrick and Christopher with his ex-wife Maria Shriver, 69. The former couple announced their split in 2011 as news of Arnie's love child shocked the world.

A week on from confirming the breakdown of his marriage, Arnold opened up about how Joseph was conceived. "After leaving the governor's office I told my wife about this event, which occurred over a decade ago," he told the Los Angeles Times.

"I understand and deserve the feelings of anger and disappointment among my friends and family. There are no excuses and I take full responsibility for the hurt I have caused. I have apologized to Maria, my children and my family. I am truly sorry."

Joseph spoke candidly about his relationship with his father in 2022 and revealed why he does not use the Schwarzenegger surname despite pursing a career in acting.

"My dad is old-school; he doesn't believe in handouts," he told Men's Health magazine. "He believes hard work pays off, and so do I. I love the word honour, and I'm very prideful in the sense that if I use my dad's contacts or ask him for favours, I wonder what honour is that gonna bring me?"

"When I go to auditions, they don't know who I am because we don't have the same last name," Joseph continued, adding that when he does land a role he will "know it's all me."
