Arsenal got back to winning ways in the Premier League with a comfortable 3-0 win at home to Nottingham Forest. The Gunners faced a Forest team who were being managed by Ange Postecoglou for the first time, with the former Tottenham boss having been appointed shortly after the controversial sacking of Nuno Espirito Santo.
Although Postecoglou's side were stubborn to start with, there was no stopping Martin Zubimendi's incredible volley in the 32nd minute. After a corner was only half cleared, Zubimendi shaped up and struck the ball brilliantly before it had time to bounce.
His effort took a slight deflection off a Forest defender, giving Matz Sels no chance. Arsenal went in at the break 1-0 up but they had lost Martin Odegaard to injury in the first half, a worry ahead of next week's clashes with Athletic Bilbao and Manchester City.
It wasn't long before the Gunners had doubled their lead. Viktor Gyokeres scored his third goal in three Premier League games after Eberechi Eze gave him a simple finish.
But it was the winger who didn't get an assist who shone brightest. Noni Madueke was outstanding, continuing his rich vein of form after starring in England's 5-0 thrashing of Serbia in Belgrade on Tuesday.
Arsenal weren't done after Madueke went off, though. Zubimendi met Leandro Trossard's cross and his well-placed header made it three for the hosts.
Here are our player ratings from the Emirates.
