A 5-year-old boy has died in a horror accident at a popular California beach.
Little Maxwell Haworth had been climbing on rocks at Rincon Beach in Ventura when he slipped, which dislodged a boulder a boulder that fatally struck him dead. His parents had been watching close by as their only child played with his best friend.
When the two children explored the rocky area on August 31, Maxwell lost his footing which caused the boulder to fall. He suffered critical injuries in front of his parents and later succumbed to his injuries.
"His father picked him up and went up to the parking lot with him in his arms to get some help," Kessler told The Los Angeles Times. "They did everything they could."

Kessler added: "He was always a joyful, energetic five-year-old and always having fun, loved everybody. He had just actually started kindergarten a couple of weeks ago."
The family has since organised a fundraiser in his memory and to support the family during this time. Bryan Holloway, who organised the fundraiser, said: "Some of their fondest family memories were made camping and exploring the Californian beaches, deserts, and mountains."
He continued: "Max was their biggest joy in life and a blessing they couldn’t have wanted more. Max lived and experienced more in his short five years of life then most children get in their lifetime. He got to live a life of adventure and exploring while building some of the fondest memories with his mom, dad, friends, and family.
"Max will be immensely missed by all who knew him. He was an energetic spirit with a huge heart that brought so much joy to not only his parents lives, but some of his closest friends and family’s lives. Please feel free to show your love and help this family during this time of need."
Following Maxwell's death, the fundraiser has amassed an estimated $66,424 (£48,996) out of a $80,000 (£59,010) target. Bryan said money from the fundraiser would go toward funding funeral costs, grievance therapy as well as other "burdens" following Maxwell's death.
