A murder probe has been launched after a teenager was stabbed to death outside a Powerleague football centre.
The 19-year-old was the victim of a 'targeted attack' in the car park in Bury, police said. He suffered several stab wounds and died later from his injuries. No arrests have been made, and police say an investigation is ongoing, with a large cordon remaining in place around the football centre this morning. Officers have been seen taking photographs of a grey car within the cordon.
Detective Chief Inspector John Charlton, from Greater Manchester Police's Major Incident Team, said: “Firstly, our thoughts are with the victim’s family and friends after this tragic and upsetting incident - our specially trained officers are supporting them at this difficult time.
