A murder probe has been launched after a teenager was stabbed to death outside a Powerleague football centre.

The 19-year-old was the victim of a 'targeted attack' in the car park in Bury, police said. He suffered several stab wounds and died later from his injuries. Officers have been seen taking photographs of a grey car within the cordon.

Detective Chief Inspector John Charlton, from Greater Manchester Police's Major Incident Team, said: “Firstly, our thoughts are with the victim’s family and friends after this tragic and upsetting incident - our specially trained officers are supporting them at this difficult time.
