Coronation Street fans were left shocked and confused when it was confirmed who really died in yet another twist following the appearance of Becky Swain.
Since she arrived in Weatherfield as a regular in 2024, Lisa has spoken of her first wife Becky (Amy Cudden), whom she said was killed in the line of duty in 2021. But just days after Lisa got engaged to Carla Connor, the police officer was left reeling when Becky casually walked into number six and said hello to her wife, seeming to have come back from the dead.
Monday's episode left things on a cliffhanger and viewers had to wait until Friday night to see how things would play out thanks to the NTAs, but the latest trip to Weatherfield picked up right where things had left off. Lisa began to hyperventilate dramatically, and Becky tried to calm her down before revealing that she had been in Spain all this time.

When Lisa managed to extract the truth from Becky, she let rip: "You went undercover in Curtis' gang, Bex? One of the most dangerous men in Manchester! You put all of our lives at risk, and you didn't trust me enough to tell me! I could have helped you. Curtis was shot a few weeks ago, a contract killing. Did you know that? There were cheers down at the station, the lads went out on the lash, I should have joined them. He's destroyed my life!"
Pretty soon, Carla was on the scene and was just as taken aback to find out her fiancée's first wife was in fact alive and well. Incredulous, Lisa said: "This is my wife, Becky Swain," and a confused Carla replied: "Dead Becky?" before Lisa spluttered through laughter: "Well, she's not anymore, is she? I don't know where to start!" Becky chipped in: "I was working undercover, and my identity was leaked." Carla sussed that Becky had been in witness protection, and double-checked with Lisa that she knew nothing about it.
Fans will remember that weeks ago, Carla paid a visit to Logan Radcliffe in prison and he gave her the name Tia Wardley. The Underworld boss was not able to find anything out by simply Googling the name, and Lisa claimed to know nothing about her. Last week, a woman claiming to be Tia Wardley arrived at the Bistro and told Lisa that her late wife had given her help in her time of need. But it was soon revealed to viewers that she was a decoy, sent by Lisa's boss DI Costello and in the scene in the woods, Becky began to deliver the truth about the situation.
Becky said: "That wasn't her. The real Tia Wardley died that night and the rest of the team thought we could use her death to help me get to safety. Costello got a woman to pretend to be Tia, he did it to protect you."
Lisa stared coldly at Becky and said: "He identified your body. He told me I didn't have to go through the pain of it. He lied to my face." Becky then claimed that had she not gone through with the whole thing, she would have died at the hands of Curtis but then Carla spun round to issue a further question.
She said: "So this Tia, the real one, so, what her family and friends just think she disappeared," but Becky explained: "She was a loner, homeless. I didn't ask that many questions but you have to believe me, there's not a day that passes that I don't think about her. The guilt is eating me up!"
Fans were left just as shocked as confused as Lisa and Carla, and they took to social media to share their reaction to the bizarre situation. One said: "Please no one test me on the Becky/Tia/Costello backstory. I'm still trying to get my head around it!"
Another said: "Just a thought. Why didn't the whole family go into witness protection ? Perhaps they couldn't rely on Lisa keeping her mouth shut regarding the obvious illegality of Tia's death, and the banging up of Becky's "killer"," and a third joked: "Manifesting Tia Wardley to also come back from the dead!"
