Coronation Street star Luca Toolan has landed a new role just nine months after he was killed off in the long-running ITV soap.
The 21-year-old made his acting debut on the cobbles as troubled teen Mason Radcliffe - but just as he was starting to turn his life around he was murdered by his own brothers, Matty and Logan, in tragic scenes. During a fight they grabbed Dylan Wilson's knife in the play park and stabbed Mason to death. He was found by Abi Webster, who desperately tried to save him after he own son Seb was killed after being attacked by a gang back in 2021.
Luca's final scenes aired in January. He said it was an 'honour and privilege' to be a part of the show as he described his exit as 'bittersweet' - even though he knew his fate around a year before but had to keep it a secret.

Speaking at the time, he said: "Of course when I first heard, there was a mixture of emotions because I was sad that Mason was going to die and that means I would be leaving. But equally I was really excited and honoured to be part of this storyline because it's an incredibly important issue that needs to be tackled.
"I feel so privileged to have had this opportunity to start my professional career at Coronation Street and what a great time I've had.
"I've met some of the most incredible friends I'll cherish for life that have been beyond supportive and loving. I'm at a loss for words to quantify what they mean and what this experience has meant to me.
"To the incredible army that makes this show and to the all the supporters of it thank you for making a lads dream come true."
In a new interview with The Sun, Luca revealed what's next for him when it comes to acting. He shared: "I just finished a short film, I'm loving life. This short film was a dream come true, it was a medieval short film.
"They built a whole set, they built me a sword from scratch. It sounds really nerdy but for me it was so fun. And then from that I'm auditioning for film and TV, so I guess within the next six months you might start seeing me on your screens."
Off-screen Luca is no stranger to the showbiz world - and has a rather famous dad. The son of well-known radio DJ Mike Toolan, his father is known for spinning records on Hits Radio alongside former Emmerdale and Hollyoaks star Gemma Atkinson.
Sharing his joy when Luca landed his Corrie role, he wrote on social media: "Luca has been unveiled as the new baddie (Mason) on Coronation Street. Absolute dream come true for him. Liam McCheyne [who plays Dylan] and all the amazing Corrie cast and crew have made him feel so at home."
Speaking of his strong bond with fellow actor Liam, 18, he said: "It really is amazing. I feel very lucky because I've had Liam with me and he's been like an older brother to me, even though he's actually younger than me.
"He's such a nice dude and he's really walked me through everything, showed me where the teas are and the cups and what have you, and he's made it a lot easier.
"If I was going in on a storyline by myself, I feel like it'd be a lot more daunting, but everybody's so nice. I didn't know what to expect, but everybody's genuinely lovely."
