Carl Webster could be set for a major downfall after Hope Dobbs declared she 'didn't trust' him in Friday night's episode of Coronation Street. Fans of ITV's flagship soap will know that the sacked mechanic, who was introduced earlier this year as the long-lost brother of Street legend Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) has been conducting an affair with his sister-in-law Abi (Sally Carman).
On the latest instalment, things took a dramatic turn when Dorin, the son of Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) and his ex Alina Pop (Ruxandra Porojnicu), was left under the care of Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) when the pair decided to play hide and seek. But Steve fell asleep on the sofa, and he was awoken by a man from the council who had come to collect an old fridge.
Mass panic ensued when Steve failed to find the little one, and residents worried that he had been carried away in the broken appliance. Amid all this, viewers will remember that earlier this week, Hope Dobbs (Isabella Flanagan) had accidentally got a photo that could expose everything. It comes amid spoilers hinting someone may rumble Abi and Carl's affair next week.

As for Hope's photo, it was of Tyrone showing a builder's bum but both Abi and Carl could clearly be seen in the car behind them. Abi had ordered her secret lover to somehow get rid of the evidence. Hope, had had her phone confiscated by Tyrone and Abi called Carl (Jonathan Howard) to tell him where to find it whilst she took the teenager round to Roy's Rolls.
Carl went round to number nine, where he found Dorin hiding in the outhouse in the back yard, but chose not to say a thing as everyone else rallied round trying to find him. Instead, he found Hope's phone in the biscuit tin and promptly threw it in the washing up bowl.
He fished the now-damaged device out of the soapy water, and was caught immediately my Hope, who had rushed hope to look for her little brother. He fumbled an excuse but it was clear that Hope knew something was up.
Minutes later, Carl fetched Dorin from the outhouse and turned onto the Street to hand him back to Tyrone and Fiz, who were convinced that he had been taken off to landfill. Even though all was well, a row later ensued at number nine where Tyrone blasted Steve for taking his eyes off the toddler. Tyrone's long-lost mother Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney) told Tyrone: "Have a heart, Ty. How long is it since Amy was that age?"

She had momentarily forgot that, as well as Amy, Steve also had a child called Oliver with Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson), who died when he was the same age Dorin is currently. Carl's face fell as he learned the truth, and quickly apologised.
Abi later castigated Carl in the ginnel, having worked out that Carl had stayed silent about Dorin's whereabouts. He protested: "I knew he was fine, what difference does it make? I couldn't have told them two minutes earlier and have everyone see that photograph!"
But Abi shot back: "We have gone too far! There were ringing the council, and the police, they were going out of their minds. If that was Alfie and I thought he was dead, and someone could've spared me three seconds of that pain..." before storming off.
Steve, currently partnered up with Cassie has been living with Tyrone and Fiz whilst his divorce with Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) is being finalised. But the whole drama with Dorin prompted Tyrone to tell Steve to pack his bags, and it left him with 'no idea' where to go next.
All day, Hope had been excited to go to a gig, having badgered Tyrone for permission all week. But with everything that had happened, Tyrone said it was 'too late' at the last minute.
In the end, he joked that it was the silver lining in the whole situation that Hope's unflattering photo of him was gone forever, but Hope, deep in thought suddenly mused: "I don't trust Jack's uncle. I think he did it on purpose." Tyrone replied: "Carl? He literally saved our bacon this afternoon, your brother could've been anywhere... I dread to think." But Hope was not convinced by any of it.
Over at the Bistro, Abi forgave Carl for his actions. She told him: "You know I don't want this to end. I want this to go on forever." But with Hope seemingly on the case, and the news that Tracy Barlow is set to wade in on things, it looks as though things could be about to come out a lot sooner than she had planned.
