A driver has died after suffering a suspected medical episode behind the wheel of his car.
Merseyside Police said in a statement this morning that officers were called to Longmoor Lane in Fazakerley, Liverpool, following reports that a beige Ford Mondeo had ploughed into a parked Mercedes.
While the crash caused minor damage, emergency services pronounced an 83-year-old man dead at the scen. He suffered a suspected medical episode.

The grey Mercedes had been parked nearby Kirkdale cemetery, with a cordon placed and roads closed following the incident. Roads in the area have since reopened after police recovered the car.

Detective Sergeant Simon Duffy said in a statement that the man's family has been informed, and that they are being supported by specialist police officers.
While no other vehicles aside from a parked car were believed to have been involved in the incident, he added that police are carrying out inquiries.
He said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the man who has passed away and they are being supported by specially trained officers.
“It is initially believed that he suffered a medical episode, and that no other vehicle was involved in the incident apart from the parked car. However, we are carrying out enquiries to ensure this is the case, and we are investigating the circumstances of this collision.
“With this, I would appeal to people who were in the area this morning who may have witnessed this, or have dash camera footage of the incident to please contact us.”
Merseyside Police have appealed for people to come forward with information relating to the incident, with the service specifically requesting CCTV or dashcam footage.
Anyone who believes they can assist police with their enquiries should contact the service via its @MerPolCC social media desk on X or its Facebook Merseyside Police Contact Centre.
