Emma Chamberlain has been flooded with messages of support after posting an intimate vlog that shower her enduring a panic attack on a flight.

The YouTuber, who boasts over 12 million subscribers on her main channel alone, shared that she was "deeply frightened" of getting on a plane and recently had to face her fear alone on a solo flight.

She documented the journey in her latest vlog, explaining: "I'm just getting frustrated because I feel like I've done everything right to overcome this fear and yet I'm not overcoming the fear.

"I thought the way you overcome fear is by facing them and I face my fear of flying all the time and yet I'm still deeply frightened to get on a plane."

The footage then showed her preparing for take-off before she began praying in an attempt to calm her nerves, which she said had worked for her in the past.

"Despite the praying, I still panicked," she admitted in the video's voiceover as she could be seen shutting her eyes and breathing heavily. "The second we started taking off my heart started racing, my eyes welled up with tears."

She continued: "Every bump and sound from the plane convinced me I was literally going to die and I was filled with terror as per usual. However, I will say that having to deal with it alone made the emotional response far less dramatic."

Eventually Emma found her heart rate slowed and that she could better manage the experience, but she admitted it was still a "tough time."

Her openness about her fear prompted fans to flood the comments sections with messages of support and thanks for sharing such an intimate experience with the world.

A second added: "Seeing your anxiety and fears rlly made me emotional bc it's something influencers don't tend to share with us. It made me feel so seen and 'normal' in a sense that it's reassuring to know this doesn't just happen to me."

"Everyone talks a big game about 'normalising mental health' but this is how you do it," gushed a third viewer. "I’ve gone through phases with my anxiety, and luckily I’m in a better spot than I ever have been right now.

"But the way you described your anxiety, and showed raw footage of that experience is so comforting. Thank you for truly, normalising mental health conversation."
