Emmerdale Cain and John's deadly final showdown 'set' after telling scene

Send Push

Cain Dingle set off for a final revenge on Emmerdale on Thursday, after learning John Sugden had fled the country.

Scenes may have teased an epic showdown for the characters, as Cain vowed to avenge his son Nate Robinson's murder. John killed Nate last September and covered up the crime, but all was revealed in a recent episode.

Cain had his chance to capture John this week, wanting him to be sent down for everything he had done. But Caleb Miligan, Cain's brother, had other ideas when he realised John planned to expose the truth surrounding Anthony Fox's death.

Caleb, Cain, John and others covered up Anthony's death after he was killed by his daughter Ruby Miligan, Caleb's wife, earlier this year. John threatened Cain and Caleb this week, telling them he'd scheduled an email to the police detailing Anthony's demise, who was involved and where his body was.

This led to Caleb attacking Cain and helping John escape, with John deleting the email and telling Caleb where the body was. On Thursday we saw Caleb locate Anthony's corpse, later confirming to his family it was definitely him.

But his family, including Cain, were furious that he allowed John to flee and not face up to his crimes. Fearing he'd get away with everything, John's husband Aaron Dingle stormed out as he shared his concerns that while John was out there, he couldn't move on with his life and would not get the justice he deserves.

He wasn't the only one though, with Aaron's uncle Cain devastated that his brother Caleb had helped John. Regardless of the reasons, which gained Caleb support by some relatives, Cain decided he needed to do something.

Asking Caleb where he dropped John off in the van, Caleb confirmed John said he was headed for France. With that Cain made his exit, telling his loved ones including wife Moira Dingle that he was packing a bag and heading off to find John and get justice.

So does this pave the way for what fans have been waiting for, and could there be a Cain and john showdown set? Will Cain manage to track the villain down and avenge Nate, whether that be by killing him or getting him caught by the police?

This remains to be seen, but fans have longed for Cain to be the one to bring down John ever since Nate was killed. What's clear is for Cain this is far from over!
