Just when we thought we couldn't be any more blown away by Emmerdale's Robron, a recent scene has left fans in disbelief.
Emmerdale director Matt Hilton has been sharing secrets from behind-the-scenes of their recent clifftop stunt, which saw John Sugden drag Aaron Dingle into a gorge, framing Robert Sugden in the process. In the fallout, we saw Robert racing down to try and help his ex Aaron, the love of his life, cradling him while screaming out for help.
The moving scene saw Robert begging injured Aaron to stay alive, after calling for an ambulance. Robert sobbed as he spoke to an unconscious Aaron, and viewers were left in tears over the performance.
But as if the scene wasn't already powerful enough, director Matt has now revealed most of that scene wasn't even planned. Matt confirmed that with them behind schedule, he offered Robert actor Ryan Hawley some minimal guidance on the scene in question, but it was very much improvised.

Matt shared: "We were about half a day behind schedule when we got to this scene and had to create an amended version of the scene in the situ. I basically asked Ryan to run in, pick Aaron up, do what comes natural and just break our hearts. And did he."
Viewers were stunned by this, loving the scene even more now that they knew it was almost entirely performed on the spot. The emotion and script all being in the moment, and being actor Ryan's own decision, left fans praising the star and sharing their disbelief.
One fan posted online: "HE IMPROVISED THIS WHOLE SCENE OMG THE ACTOR YOU ARE RYAN HAWLEY." Another fan said: "Oh wow," as a third added: "HE WHAT."
A fourth viewer commented: "I CAN'T BELIEVE RYAN IMPROVISED THIS WHOLE SCENE." A further fan said: "Ryan improvised two I love you’s, CRYING. we are so lucky to have him as half of our #robron."
Another fan posted: "WDYM the director told Ryan to do what comes naturally and it’s a distraught Robert screaming into the abyss and repeatedly telling a lifeless Aaron he loves him as he holds his whole world in his arms!!!" It comes as Robert remains in prison, framed by John for trying to kill Aaron.
Aaron is still in a coma after the fall, and he is the only one who can prove his soulmate Robert's innocence. Scenes coming up this week will see John finally exposed it's believed, as Aaron wakes from his coma and drops a bombshell.
