Emmerdale reveals new Anthony Fox twist amid exit mayhem in gunshot fallout

Send Push

The fallout to Tuesday's rather dramatic Emmerdale has dropped on ITVX, revealing the fallout to a deadly gun showdown.

Cain Dingle pointed a shotgun at John Sugden, the killer of his son Nate Robinson. After a war of words and an exit bid, the gun was fired but we didn't see who, if anyone, was shot.

Fans were convinced that Caleb Miligan, there at the scene, would be struck by a bullet, as others predicted no one would be shot. Now the episode has confirmed the fates of all three characters, and what really happened.

The episode shows the events from the view of the characters, while the Mirror has chosen not to reveal the outcome so fans can see it for themselves. The episode is available now on ITVX and it will air at 7:30pm on ITV1 on Wednesday evening.

Warning, some details of the episodes are shared below so to avoid any spoilers look away now! While we won't reveal the result of the shooting or what it means, what we will say is the episode drops some new hints and revelations.

Viewers saw this week that John claimed he had scheduled an email to the police for the next morning, and if he was to be killed or arrested the email would be sent. If Cain and Caleb let him flee, he would delete it - he claimed.

The email, John said, detailed the exact events surrounding Anthony Fox's murder earlier that year. It went into detail with evidence over Ruby Miligan killing her father, and all those involved in the cover-up.

Cain called his bluff, while Caleb feared that John was not lying and had really set them all up. Caleb tries to reason with Cain, revealing he believed John and that if John didn't flee, the email would expose their crime and see them all sent down.

On Wednesday amid the fallout of the gunshot showdown, we learn more about this information John has and the email. After all, John is still the only person who actually knows Anthony's true fate, and where his body is.

Amid months of speculation that he's secretly still alive and questions surrounding where the body ended up, and why John has kept it a secret, the details are finally revealed on Wednesday. Fans had predicted John was keeping it all to himself in case he ever needed leverage amid his crimes, and it seems that's exactly what's happened here.

We won't give away what happens, but there are answers about Anthony on Wednesday amid John's plan to exit the soap this week that saw him blackmail Caleb, before Cain got involved. The episode also sheds more light on the exit of John actor Oliver Farnworth, so fans should tune in later to find out what happens, or watch on ITVX now.

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays. * Follow Mirror Celebs and TV on TikTok, Snapchat, Instagram, Twitter , Facebook, and Threads.
