Good Morning Britain star Susanna Reid said "It was an honour" after marking a milestone.

During Tuesday's (September 9) episode of the hit ITV programme, Susanna and her co-host Ed Balls delivered the latest news from across the UK and around the world.

Laura Tobin was also in the studio to present regular weather updates, while Ranvir Singh handled the rest of the day's news.

Elsewhere in the show, the hosts reflected on ITV's legacy as the broadcaster marks its 70th anniversary.

Several of ITV's biggest stars, including Susanna and her GMB co-stars Laura Tobin and Charlotte Hawkins, attended a lavish event at Guildhall on Monday.

While reflecting on the evening, Susanna explained that it was an "honour" to be seated next to ITV legend Sir Trevor McDonald.

"Last night, there was a big party at the Guildhall to celebrate seven decades of broadcasting achievement," she said.

"I was sitting at the same table as Sir Trevor McDonald, no greater icon of ITV News. Such a proud member of the ITV family, it was just an honour to sit at the same table as him."

At the special event, the stars collectively chose Coronation Street as their favourite ITV programme of all time.

"There was one show, that's nearly as old as ITV itself, that is clearly front row and cobbles centre after all these years," Richard Arnold explained.

On the event as a whole, the star added: "It was a lovely nostalgia fest, I particularly enjoyed watching all the old adverts over the years, it really took me back."

Richard also spoke to Joel Dommett at the event ahead of The Masked Singer star presenting the National Television Awards on Wednesday (September 10). The NTAs are counting down to their own milestone, as the prestigious awards approach their 30th anniversary.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV1 and ITVX at 6am
