There are strong signs that King Charles and Prince Harry could publicly reappear together for the first time in six years.
It is understood that the Duke of Sussex is making genuine progress towards healing the rift with senior royals. In a BBC interview in May, Harry said: "I would love a reconciliation with my family." That wish now appears to be taking shape following his secret visit to his father during a trip to the UK earlier this month.
The Duke met King Charles at Clarence House last week - their first face-to-face meeting since February 2024. Buckingham Palace confirmed that the King hosted a private tea with his son, which lasted around 50 minutes. The meeting is being seen as a major step towards rebuilding their fractured relationship.

The last time the King and Harry were seen together at an official event was in April 2019 at the Our Planet global premiere at the Natural History Museum in London. Just months later, in January 2020, Harry stepped down from royal duties. Since then, the pair have only been publicly pictured together among other royals at the funerals of Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth.
A joint public appearance would be interpreted as a major turning point - suggesting a potential acceptance of Harry, Meghan Markle, and their children, Archie, six, and Lilibet, four, back into the royal fold. While the Duke is not expected to resume formal royal duties, he may take part in more public UK events. During his short trip last week for the annual WellChild Awards, the Duke attended a series of charity engagements across the country.

During a later trip to Kyiv with his Invictus Foundation, Harry addressed the recent meeting and his strained ties with the Royal Family in an interview with The Guardian. “I have certainly had to deal with some very stressful events over the last four years," he said. "There has been the uncertainty and stress of the litigation and finding out certain things that have really, really hurt.”
He pushed back at claims that he is "miserable" in Montecito, where he lives with Meghan and their two children. "I am very happy with who I am and I like the life that I live," he said.
At the same time, he revealed his focus over the next year will be spending more time with his father, who is undergoing cancer treatment. He also stood by his controversial memoir Spare, insisting he had no regrets about publishing it.
As part of efforts to rebuild trust, Harry reportedly agreed - at the King’s request - to avoid any public activity that might overshadow President Trump’s visit to the UK.
It comes after Harry and Meghan were pictured smiling during a surprise appearance at Kevin Costner's charity event in Santa Barbara on Saturday.
