Ryan Reynolds has lifted the lid on Channing Tatum's crazy night out with the Wrexham team which later prompted an apology from the Magic Mike star. The Hollywood A-lister paid a visit to North Wales in December last year to film a Super Bowl advert for one of the sponsors of the football club co-owned by Reynolds and Rob Mac.
The American actor clearly enjoyed his trip after stopping off at the Fat Boar pub in Wrexham with Deadpool star Reynolds for a few drinks. Tatum also watched Phil Parkinson's side's League One clash against Cambridge United at the Racecourse Ground, which ended in a 2-2 draw, and later headed out with the players to celebrate midfielder Elliot Lee's birthday.
Few details were previously known about the raucous night out, but Reynolds has now revealed what went down after joking it could have left the squad in mortal danger. During a recent appearance on , the Canadian shared a picture showing Tatum posing topless with Lee, along with now-former Wrexham strikers Ollie Palmer and Steven Fletcher, at a local nightspot.
Speaking about some of the famous faces who have watched the Red Dragons, Reynolds said: "Channing Tatum came out and nearly killed the whole team. He came out to shoot a Super Bowl ad for SToK Cold Brew Coffee, which is a sponsor of the club.
"He was going to do the Super Bowl ad where he does this insane dance thing. But after the rehearsal, he was like, 'I'm going to take some of the boys out.' And then they go out, and then it's just like radio silence."

Reynolds then read out a text he received from Tatum at around 4:30am as the audience burst into laughter. The hilarious picture from the night out was then shared on the screen.
He said: "This is a real text I got from him at 4:30 in the morning or so. 'Oops. I might have had too much fun with the boys.' And then a long pause. 'I'm sorry.' I said, 'Please don't break any of them.' And he said, 'Definitely didn't break any of them. We were very vigilant about injuries.'

"Then he just wrote, 'But we definitely got way more loose than I was ever planning to. It happened, and I'm sorry. It's definitely going to be on the internet.'"
Reynolds added: "He turned the whole team into Magic Mike. Those boys were in their hotel rooms, tucked away and lost in prayer. Then he came in individually, room by room and snatched them into the Welsh nightlife."
Tatum previously admitted to feeling nervous about meeting the players in the build-up to his visit. "I was able to go and hang out with the guys the night before filming," he told The Athletic.
"I went to the game and then it was Elliot Lee's birthday the night after. We all just hung out. Such a good time. I was still nervous. I knew I was going to have to make a fool out of myself the next day in front of them. It could have gone one of two ways.
"They could have been, 'Who is this dumb American actor, coming in here and doing whatever?' This is their job. They work hard at what they do. They are having an incredible season. I didn't know what the vibe was going to be. But they were just so sweet."
The 45-year-old also spoke glowingly about his trip in a post on social media. Writing on Instagram, he explained how the community spirit in Wrexham made him want to stay longer.
"Caffeine and dancing aside, that trip to Wrexham was something I'll never forget," Tatum said. "What Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have done for the community in Wrexham is magic. I spent a few days (and nights) there.
"The team and town have a sense of optimism and a ride or die loyalty that made me want to stay forever. Incredible work, Ryan and Rob. Good people build good things. And thanks to the many beautiful people of Wrexham. Up the town!"
