Melania Trump and Kate Middleton spoke about their families during thehistoric state visit to the UK. That is according to lip reader Jeremy Freeman who analysed an exchange between Melania and Kate outside Victoria House in Windsor earlier this afternoon.
The warm conversation happened minutes after US President Donald Trump, 79, and First Lady Melania, 55, disembarked from the Marine One helicopter.
A lip reader picked up on Trump’s stunned three-word remark to Kate, 43, before he revealed what Melania asked the Duchess of Cambridge moments later. You can keep up to date with all the latest from the historic state visit by following our live blog.

According to the expert, Melania asked: “How about you, how are the children?” Kate – mum to Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, andPrince Louis, seven – replied: ”They’re very well, they've just started back in school now so settling in again.”
Melania, whose son is Barron Trump, 19, responded with “that’s great” before Kate asked: ”How about yours?” However, the rest of the conversation could not be interpreted after the camera panned away.

Jeremy also picked up on another part of the conversation, where Kate asked Melania about what she thought about Windsor Gardens. Clearly impressed, Melania replied: "Absolutely superb, really love it, I love the greenery and the wildlife.”
Shortly after this exchange, the King shared a coach with Trump during a carriage procession through the Windsor Estate where plenty of pomp and pageantry was on full display. Melania meanwhile shared a coach with Queen Camilla.
Charles and Trump were seen laughing cordially together and the American leader said “thanks very much” several times after a guard of honour was held.

Trump and Melania had landed in Windsor at 12.14pm, 20 minutes later than they were expected to get there. Later this afternoon, the pair are expected to lay a wreath at the tomb of Queen Elizabeth II, who the president had enormous respect for.
This was followed by a grand state banquet where Trump and Charles are both expected to give speeches.
As for tomorrow, things will heat up politically, with Trump going to Keir Starmer’s country residence in Buckinghamshire to meet the Prime Minister and his wife.
They are expected to view the Sir Winston Churchillarchives together before a reception with the chancellor.
A press conference is expected to follow and during Trump’s engagements, Melania will stay at Windsor Castle where she will spend more time with the Queen and Kate.
