Send Push

In just a matter of days eighteen hopefuls who are desperately looking for love will take the brave step of putting their future in the hands of the Married At First Sight experts.

And for the first time this year, a trailer has landed showing viewers and fans four couples who share the same goal in life; to find love, get married and settle down.

The trailer starts off with a groom named Bailey standing in front of a mirror saying: "The whole purpose in life is to be loved." The clip then goes to one of the brides saying: "I've been waiting for this moment my entire life."

And the narration ahead of the show's transmission date on 21 September tells viewers: "Get ready for first glances and first dances. The fairy tales and forever afters."

The clip then breaks to see one groom serenade his bemused wife at their wedding reception, while guests bend their head down in embarrassment.

And we already get to see one of the couples who face their first obstacle just days after exchanging vows. So it's safe to say that if the trailer for this year is anything to go by, the nation is in for a treat.

MAFS experts have also been confirmed as Mel Schilling, Paul C. Brunson and Charlene Douglas.

For the first time in ten seasons, the format has now changedas the show will air from Sunday to Wednesday instead of its usual schedule of Monday to Thursday.

Another change to the show's tradition will be that the stag and hen do's will now be filmed for the first time in the UK version of the show.

Speaking about the new twists, a source told The Sun: "The programme makers know that the process on MAFS already delivers some sensational moments, but this will just add to that."

They added: "Because even in the most conventional of marriage paths the hen and stag dos are often the flashpoints when there are tears, fights and maybe even some moments of temptation."

The show insider continued: "Capture all of that on camera and then throw it into the mix and you have some dynamite telly and plenty of spanners being thrown in the works as the participants prepare themselves for married life to a total stranger."

This year's brides include Anita, Grace, Julia-Ruth, Leah, Leigh, Maeve, Nelly, Rebecca and Sarah. And the grooms include Ashley, Bailey, Davide, Dean, Divarni, Joe, Keye, Paul and Steven.

Bailey has already attracted attention as his reason for appearing on the show has finally come to light. The father of one had been engaged to his partner at the time.

But their relationship which was an open one, came to an end as he failed to follow the rules that were set.

Another source told The Sun: "Those close to Bailey and his ex-fiancé know that the relationship was not monogamous, and as it was an open relationship, both parties hooked up with other people at different times throughout their partnership."

They added: "The couple had some rules in the relationship, and Bailey didn’t always follow them, but has taken accountability for his mistakes and openly talks about them on MAFS UK."

The source said: "He and his ex-partner remain friends, and there is a mutual respect between them. They shared some amazing experiences together and continue to support each other. All will be revealed on the upcoming series of MAFS UK."
