TV presenter Gabby Loganhas shared her heartbreak after announcing the loss of her beloved family dog, Milo, who has been by her side for the past 14 years.
The BBC sports broadcaster, 52, took to Instagram to pay tribute to her “one in a million” companion in an emotional post that left fans in tears. Sharing a series of touching words about her four-legged friend, Gabby revealed that Milo had been a protective, loyal and much-loved member of her family, who grew up alongside her children Lois and Reuben.
Alongside a heartfelt caption, Gabby wrote: “Our hearts are broken. Our big guy has gone. Milo you were truly one in a million.” She described her cherished pet as “the model of stoicism”, explaining that while he didn’t fuss for attention, he had an undeniable presence in the family home.

“You adored a sniff on your walk and you did love an itch, nothing better than a scratch in your bed just under your chin. Visitors knew you were in charge. Nobody was ever going to harm your children, who would grow up to be your favourite humans,” she shared.
Gabby went on to recall how Milo would spring to life whenever her twins, now 18, came through the door — no matter how deeply he had been sleeping. “Even when your number one hobby became sleeping, the voices of Lois and Reuben as they came home and through the door could stir you from your slumber. Your little tail wagging with joy,” she wrote.
The former gymnast, who is married to ex-rugby player Kenny Logan, also told how Milo had an impeccable body clock, always ready for food at 8am and 5pm sharp. “You’d come and find us if we’d dared not to notice the time,” she added, joking about her dog’s punctual habits.
Gabby explained how Milo had welcomed new canine companions into the household during his later years, including Maggie and, more recently, Maverick. She said: “You welcomed Maggie in as a puppy and cuddled her in your bed and then in the winter of your life when we thought you might be about to leave us, along came Maverick. And somehow you rallied and found two years more to guide him and enjoy his vitality and youth.”
The presenter finished her tribute by thanking her beloved dog for the joy he had brought the Logan family over the years. “I can’t tell you how much you have meant to us Milo. 14 years of being the boss, we are forever grateful you chose us to love,” she wrote.
Fans and famous friends were quick to offer their condolences, and praising Milo as “a legend” and sending love to the family at such a difficult time. Strictly’s Karen Hauer said: “I’m so sorry what a lovely boy” while Gemma Atkinson also shared her comment saying: “Oh Gabby I’m so sorry for you all.” Lisa Snowdon also sent her well wishes, saying: “Sending love to you all, this is so sad Gabby”. Alex Scott also said: “oh my heart is broken for you seeing this. So sorry x”.
Gabby has long been open about her close family life, and even recently reflected on a time she felt she was deeply unpopular. Back in 2007, Gabby stepped out from behind her presenting lectern to be a contestants on hit show Strictly Come Dancing.
The star was partnered with professional dancer James Jordan and, being season five of the long-running show, this was the time when Tess Daly and the late Sir Bruce Forsyth were hosts of the show. The judging panel consisted of Arlene Phillips, Craig Revel Horwood, Bruno Tonioli and the late Len Goodman.
While Gabby made it through three rounds of the show before she was voted off, she is convinced that she became a hate figure during her time on the ballroom floor. She featured on the series at the same time as her husband, Kenny Logan - was also competing with Gabby's dance partner James' wife Ola Jordan.
Wales Online quotes Gabby saying she was left being "very much aware that people didn't like" her during her time on the show.
She also told Jessica Ennis on the Gold Minds podcast: "It was the fact that obviously people didn't vote for me — and it sounds a bit pathetic — but you realise when it's a reality show that it's about whether people like you. And I was very much aware that people didn't like me.
"I was kind of like, they didn't like me enough to vote for me... It was a very sobering kind of experience because in the days afterwards, not only was I dreadfully missing the dancing, but also realising I kind of felt like, 'Oh, what was it about me that people didn't relate to?'"
