Newsboy's horseracing tips for Tuesday's four meetings, including Brighton Nap

THE admirably consistent IREZUMI (3.15, Nap) is sure to give you a good run for your money at Brighton on Tuesday.

Jim Boyle's five-year-old is proven on the track, having won over the course and mile-and-a-half distance in August last year, and has not been out of the first three in his last five races.

The gelded son of Hawkbill was beaten into second by One Million Dreams over 1m5f at Lingfield in June but previous to that – on the same track over a more suitable trip of just less than 1m4f – my selection made good headway before storming clear in the final furlong to win by four and a half lengths from Rupert The Prince.

The runner-up franked the form by winning at Nottingham in July.

Another similar display from Irezumi should make him hard to beat under Luke Cotton in the Celebrating The Life Of Jake Cheeseman Handicap.

At Chepstow, Grace Harris is fancied to take the DragonBet Welsh Racing Festival Handicap for the second year running – this time with SAVANNAH SMILES (6.30, nb).

The mare was well backed when scoring by one and a quarter lengths from Level Up last month at the course in July and was only beaten a neck in second over the same course and 5f distance nine days later.

The daughter of Unfortunately was a little disappointing at the end of July when fifth back at Chepstow, but returned to form to finish a neck second to Fancy Dancer at Brighton earlier this month, just failing to hold on over five and a half furlongs.

Back at five furlongs today, Harris could be celebrating again.
