Oliver Glasner continues to be linked with Manchester United – and now Adam Wharton has cast fresh doubt over his manager's Crystal Palace future. Ruben Amorim remains under pressure despite a 2-0 win over Sunderland at Old Trafford on Saturday.
Glasner is just one of a number of names who have been linked with replacing Amorim should he be sacked by the United hierarchy. The Austrian has already entered the last 12 months of his contract at Selhurst Park and revealed last week he is yet to be offered a new deal.
And Wharton admitted: "Obviously there is always speculation with people's contracts coming up, but you've seen the impact he's had here and the way we are playing, so the longer he stays, the better I think.
"But anything could happen, so we will see."
Speaking to the Austrian edition of Kicker recently, Glasner refused to rule out replacing Amorim at Old Trafford. He said: "I follow all the rumours - and that's all there is - neutrally and completely relaxed.
"Focusing on the daily work with my players and coaches, and trying to enjoy it as much as possible."

But speaking after the victory over the Black Cats, Mason Mount insisted that his team-mates are backing Amorim to turn things around. He said: "We're 100% behind the gaffer.
"We've had some results that hurt us - the team, the staff and the fans - but that was important today. It needs to be the start of building something.
"We thought after winning against Chelsea it would be the start of something and then we go to Brentford and have a disappointing result.

"It starts today and we'll be working hard over the break. We want to get back-to-back wins, then three in a row and push on for the top four."
However, Jamie Carragher believes that it is 'inevitable' that Amorim will be sacked by United before Christmas.
"I don't like saying a manager should be sacked – it's disrespectful and it's a man's job – but I'm at that point where I do think Ruben Amorim's job is untenable," he said, speaking on The Overlap Fan Debate, brought to you by Sky Bet.
"It's inevitable that this is going to happen before Christmas. His stats are unbelievable for a Manchester United manager – 50 games as Manchester United manager, he's only scored two more goals than he's conceded."
