According to local reports, 66 fired cartridge casings have been found by Philadelphia Police's Crime Scene Unit on South Etting Street. It comes just hours after eight people were wounded when a shooter, or a group of shooters, opened fire at a South Philadelphia nightclub after a fight broke out in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Five men and three women, ranging from 25 to 43 years old, were injured. Officers said the shooting was likely sparked by an argument outside the club that escalated into a physical fight involving knives. Security stepped in to try and break up the fight, but shots were then fired on the balcony outside the building.
One of the security guards on duty admitted to firing a gun, police said. Investigators are now scouring CCTV footage to find out how many shooters were involved in the attack.
