Former Love Island star Claudia Fogarty has shared that she recently faced a “very scary” hospital stay after her waters broke unexpectedly at just 33 weeks into her pregnancy.
The 31-year-old reality star – who is the daughter of motorbike racing legend Carl Fogarty – is expecting her first child with her boyfriend Ollie Crankshaw. In May the couple announced that they are due to welcome a baby girl in November.
Claudia explained that the ordeal began while she was having her eyelashes done, when she felt a sudden trickle of liquid. After phoning Ollie and her mum, she contacted the maternity unit, who advised her to come straight in to be checked.

But as soon as she arrived in the hospital car park, her waters broke, leaving her “panicked” and nervous the baby was about to arrive.
Doctors told her she would need to remain under observation for at least 48 hours to make sure she wasn’t going into premature labour.
Speaking from her hospital bed, Claudia admitted: “It’s scary now because there’s no water. My bump has shrunk in size. That scared me. She’s fine. I had a scan.”
She added: “This baby’s coming a lot earlier than I thought.” Although medics have reassured her there may still be up to two weeks before the birth, Claudia confessed to feeling underprepared as she thought she had more time.
She explained: “It’s been a lot and very overwhelming. I’m a lot calmer today. You just don’t think these things happen to you. Nothing in the house is ready; I’ve got no early baby stuff.”
The reality star has now started ordering supplies for the baby and will hopefully be discharged soon, as doctors have seen no signs of her going into labour.
Her scare came just days after Claudia admitted she had been struggling with swelling in her legs and feet, which is a common symptom in the third trimester of a pregnancy.
She asked followers if this was normal, before confirming that NHS guidelines say it is often part of the process. Claudia first shared her pregnancy news in May with a sweet video at the beach where she can be seen standing with Ollie.
In the clip, the pair embraced before unveiling photos of a scan and writing “Baby girl” in the sand. She captioned the post: “Half of me half of you. We can’t wait to meet you. Baby Crankshaw coming November 2.”
Friends and family, including Claudia’s sister Danielle and dad Carl, rushed to congratulate the happy couple. Her dad jokingly complained about the baby being a girl, while Danielle was thrilled, writing: “Oh baby girl. I can’t WAIT to meet you and dress you up in all things PINK. my little princes finally have their princess.”
Claudia appeared on Love Island in season nine. She didn't find lasting love in the villa, but has since settled down very happily with Ollie.
Her mother Michaela previously admitted it was “hard to watch” her daughter have her heart broken on the ITV2 show, but is pleased Claudia has since “finally found [her] happiness”.
