Sabrina Carpenter appears to have revealed the truth behind her split from Barry Keoghan. Many people have speculated that one song on Man's Best Friend could be about the Saltburn actor and their "turbulent" relationship.
The singer, 26, doesn't name Barry, 32, who is thought to be her most recent ex-partner, but fans suspect he inspired some lyrics on the album following their break-up last year. It includes the closing track Goodbye, in which the Grammy Award winner sings about the apparent end of a relationship.
In the opening verse, she sings: "Broke my heart on Saturday. Guess overnight your feelings changed. And I have cried so much I almost fainted." Just like the chorus, it hints that it was her partner - presumed to be Barry - who left, perhaps not for the final time.
Then in the chorus, Sabrina sings: "Goodbye means that you're losing me for life. Can't call it love, then call it quits [...] Did you forget that it was you who said goodbye?"

Fans suspect Sabrina's song Never Getting Laid, which includes lyrics about a partner with a wandering eye, could be about Barry, too – although there is no suggestion of infidelity. He's thought to be referenced in other tracks like Go Go Juice, in which she playfully references exes.
Sabrina has previously spoken about life since the break-up. Asked if she was single by Rolling Stone earlier this year, she said: "Am I doing the single thing right now? I'm doing the 25-year-old thing right now, whatever that means."
She also addressed having relationships in the public eye and the challenge of that. Sabrina said: "People underestimate how tricky it is to navigate being a young woman, having relationships, and then having a bunch of strangers have opinions on them."
She reportedly split from Barry towards the end of last year. A source told People at the time that they were both "young and career focused," implying that it was a mutual choice to go their separate ways.
Following the split, Barry deactivated his Instagram account amid speculation and online abuse. As reported by People at the time, he said in a statement that he had faced "disgusting commentary" and was concerned about his family's welfare.

Sabrina's new album, which has also attracted attention over its 'sexed-up' lyrics, was released today. Posting about the album, Sabrina told fans: "Man's Best Friend is out now x how special to make something out of pure inspiration and zero pressure. I don't think I've had greater memories making something before.
"I made the whole record with 3 of my best most brilliant friends Amy, Jack and John. And if i could turn back time and relive these memories i would. God damn, we had so much fun! and you can hear it!
"It's a real party for heartbreak, a celebration of disappointment! It's laughing at yourself and your poor choices as everything is falling apart, it's wondering how loyalty and love always gets you back to third wheeling, spoken sarcastically like a true 25 year old!
"You know her, you love her. Its yours now. happy Man's Best Friend day! Out now everywhere. Ps- I encourage you to listen loud, in order, top to bottom, with friends or by yourself! this is sonically and lyrically my favorite way to experience this album! (Glass of white wine/ go go juice optional)."
