Stacey Solomon leaves NTAs empty-handed in another awards show blow

Send Push

Stacey Solomon failed to win in any of the categories she had been nominated in at the NTAs last night. The former Loose Women star, 34, was up for TV Presenter whilst both her reality show Stacey & Joe, which follows her home life with husband Joe Swash, and Sort Your Life, were nominated for Factual Entertainment.

However, it was a major blow for the TV star as she failed to win anything when Gary Lineker broke Ant and Dec's 23-year-winning streak in the TV presenter Category, also pipping Alison Hammond and Claudia Winkleman to the post.

Clarkson's Farm won for Factual Entertainment also beating out Gogglebox, and The Martin Lewis Money Show, meaning that Stacey, who managed to win her first NTA in 2024 for her BBC lifestyle programme, walked away empty-handed. However, she and Joe were on hand to present The Bruce Forsyth Entertainment Award to Michael McIntyre's Big Show.

Earlier that day, Stacey, who shot to fame in her late teens when she finished third place on The X Factor before becoming one of the nation's favourite TV personalities, she admitted she couldn't understand why two of her shows had been pitted against each other in the same category to start with. During an appearance on Magic Radio just hours before the ceremony took place, she said: "They’ve put Sort Your Life Out and Stacey & Joe in the same blummin' category for some reason – we’re up against each other, which is absolutely ludicrous!

"But you know what, I’m so grateful to just be going, it's so nice to be shortlisted and nominated, knowing that it’s a public vote.

"All our family are going to be there, it’s the first time our family has got to go to anything like this, so it's going to be amazing no matter what happens!"

BBC soap opera EastEnders, which celebrated its 40th anniversary in February this year, was amongst the big winners, having scooped up the gong for Serial Drama, beating out rivals Coronation Street, Emmerdale, Hollyoaksand medical drama Casualty, whilst Serial Drama Performance went to Steve McFadden, who has played Phil Mitchell on the London-based programme for 35 years.

This Morning managed was won in the Daytime category, having fought off competition from Scam Interceptors, Loose Women and James Martin's Saturday Kitchen. The ITV magazine show managed to claim the title back after two years of losing out to The Repair Shop and The Chase.

But for Stacey, the loss also comes after she had also issued a statement ahead of the NTAs following her epic rant after her BAFTAs snub. The presenter was fuming in May when she lost out on two gongs for her BBC show, Sort Your Life Out.

And now, after posting a snap of an elegant black dress hanging up in the bathroom of Pickle Cottage as well as two adorable girls' floral dresses alongside suit jackets and trousers, Stacey told fans she was grateful to be nominated.

She wrote: "It's NTA day. Just got home from work, now it's time to get ready. Just wanted to say, no matter what, I'm so grateful to be nominated for an NTA.

"The fact that we are going tonight with our whole family is so special, I can't even put it into words. It's voted for by YOU so thank you from the bottom of our hearts for giving us this moment. We will never forget it and NEVER take it for granted. To the moon and back everyone x."

Earlier in the year she hadadmitted she was 'devastated' after losing out on a gong after being nominated for Entertainment Performance for her show, Sort Your Life Out. The gong was instead awarded to Joe Lycett.

The BBC One show was also nominated for Factual Entertainment, but was pipped to the post by Rob and Rylan's Grand Tour.

Tending to her garden at Pickle Cottage, Stacey shared a video of herself the morning after the awards. In it she said: "Good morning from the veg patch, about to do the morning water. We didn't win a BAFTA and I know I'm supposed to take it gracefully like a champ but I'll be honest I'm devastated."
