Black Ops 6 is giving players a free-play week to dive into its various modes and maps, coinciding with the launch of Battlefield 6.
Call of Duty remains in the hands of players following the Black Ops 7 day-long beta extension, with gamers continuing to explore the title that promises heaps to offer. However, it seems not enough players are engaging due to stiff competition.
The recent Battlefield 6 betas have won over shooter fans everywhere, delivering an FPS with a touch of MilSim realism that fans didn't realise they were missing. Consequently, the Black Ops 7 beta has felt somewhat formulaic, lacking a fully-fledged Zombies experience and maps full of doors (those pesky doors), making it hard to feel as though we're getting a fresh and exciting experience.
Fortunately, players have the same cost-free opportunity to delve into its predecessor, with some particularly interesting timing. So, how can you play Black Ops 6 for free? Here's what you need to know about the Black Ops 6 free trial.

Black Ops 6 free trial start timeThe Black Ops 6 free trial start time is 9am PDT / 12pm EDT / 5pm BST on Thursday, October 9, and will end at 10am PDT / 1pm EDT / 6pm BST on Thursday, October 16. This news was revealed by the latest Call of Duty blog post.
During this period, you'll have unrestricted access to everything in the trial, as there are no timed additions like Zombies in the Black Ops 7 beta.
Black Ops 6 free trial contentThe latest blog post from Call of Duty reveals that the Black Ops 6 free trial will grant you access to every part of the game (including, surprisingly, the campaign) except for Ranked Play for Multiplayer. You'll also be able to explore the new content introduced in Season 6, such as fresh weapons, new gobblegums and more.
As you dive into the new season, prepare to battle it out on the new maps Gravity, Rig, Mothball and the eerie version of Nuketown, cleverly named Boo-Town. You'll also have the chance to play the new Slasher Deathmatch, a fun spin on the fan-made Michael Myers mode featuring Jason and Chucky.
This mode promises to be a blast, but you'll need to act fast to take advantage of the free week, which conveniently rolls out just before Battlefield 6 hits the shelves. Quite the amusing coincidence, wouldn't you say?
