The pressure was mounting for the 68-year-old as he raced to treat a newborn calf that had sustained a severe gash.
The youngster was merely hours old and due to its wounds was battling to nurse from its mother, reports Yorkshire Live. With the baby more at risk than ever, Peter was compelled to work swiftly.

The veterinarian didn't hesitate in caring for the wounded creature as he cleansed the injury, administered fresh sutures and wrapped it with a dressing.

"That will mean having a bit of milk, which is very important. It's important that it happens within the first few hours of life."
Speaking to the camera, Peter added: "I do know this calf is going to be well looked after. I can see the farmer has a lovely sense of humour and there is a lot of care there."
