BBC Radio 2 presenter Vernon Kay has opened up about his wedding day, revealing there's one element of the special occasion he'll always regret.
Despite exchanging vows with Strictly Come Dancing co-presenter Tess Daly more than two decades ago, he admitted that one choice the couple made before their big day continues to play on his mind.
Speaking to a listener during his daily Radio 2 programme this morning (Tuesday, 23 September), he said he still kicks himself for never capturing his magical day with Tess on film, explaining: "At the time we didn't video our wedding, we thought 'oh we'll never watch it back, it's just another expense on top of the wine and the food, the fish, all that kid of stuff.' So we didn't have a videographer, and now, looking back, we're like aghh."

Previously, Vernon had revealed that he and Tess had met each other completely by accident at a BBC Christmas bash.

It was back in 2001, when they were both at the beginning of their broadcasting journeys, that they faced the peculiar task of creating their own interpretation of Britney Spears' hit ...Baby One More Time music video at the festive celebration.
Just two years after their first meeting, the duo tied the knot in 2003, and it wasn't long before they welcomed their first family member, with the arrival of their eldest daughter, Phoebe, in October 2003, and Amber six years afterwards.

Having been together for more than two decades, it's fair to say that Vernon and Tess rank among showbiz's longest serving couples, and in a recent chat with Hello magazine, the Strictly co-presenter was keen to pay tribute to her husband, saying: "Vernon's also a brilliant dad. He's there at the netball matches, cheering on, and we never miss a concert."
She continued: "I'm very aware that you don't get these precious times back."
While the duo have watched their romance blossom over the years, they've experienced comparable triumph in their professional lives, with Vernon taking Ken Bruce's sought-after mid-morning position on BBC Radio 2 in 2023.

12 months prior, he had frequently featured on Radio 1, stepping in whenever Zoe Ball was unavailable for her programme.
Similarly, Tess pursued modelling before subsequently launching her television career in the early 2000s, appearing on programmes such as Home On Their Own and Back To Reality, prior to securing her role co-hosting Strictly Come Dancing in 2004.
Three years after her Strictly launch, Tess and Vernon's professional paths crossed for the first time when they featured together on BBC One's Just the Two of Us.
