It was a dramatic night in EastEnders tonight, as fans finally learnt about Zoe Slater's secret past. As it was revealed she was the one who had been shot on the Sqaure, fans were taken back to 2006, when she was in hospital for a whole different reason.
During the episode, the Square rallied around Zoe as she revealed her gunshot wound, with her ex, doctor Anthony Trueman stepping in to help. However, as she continued to lose blood, Zoe passed out and was rushed to hospital – which is when fans were taken back in time.
Taking us back to 2006, EastEnders revealed that Zoe had given birth to twins, but as she came round, realised there was only one baby.

The nurse told Zoe the doctor would be in to speak to her - but Zoe didn't seem to stick around as she was later seen attempting to leave the hospital.
Laying in bed, Zoe told the nurse she wanted her baby boy adopted, although she was told not to make any rash decisions by the nurse.
"That was a traumatic birth, your hormones will settle down," she was told. The nurse then stepped out to speak to the doctor, who expressed her concerns.
"Bad blood is a worrying comment," the doctor said. "If she's serious about adoption, we need to get the wheels in motion.
"She's still got no surname?" As the nurse confirmed they didn't the doctor told her to "run through the post natal depression scare as soon as. Sounds like she's going to need some support."
However, before the nurse could speak to her Zoe had left the room, leaving her baby alone. The nurse then picked up an Ibiza keyring which the camera zoomed into, as Zoe struggled out in pain.
We were then taken back to the present day, where Zoe was lying in the hospital bed with Kat beside her. Kat then asked if Zoe has had kids when she said she "can't be a mum," to which she responded: "Can't even give birth right."
An emotional Kat asked if they'd died as her daughter passed out - as fans saw Zoe's angel tattoo. It was later revealed she needed emergency surgery due to the bleeding – but will she survive?
No other information was given about Zoe's twins. Most importantly, we still have no clue who the father of the baby is.
Fans will have to wait to find out more...
