OpenAI has introduced ChatGPT Go, its most affordable subscription tier yet, aimed at making advanced AI tools more accessible to users in India. Priced at Rs 399 per month, the plan offers expanded access to ChatGPT’s popular features at a fraction of the cost of premium plans.

Announcing the rollout, Nick Turley, VP & Head at ChatGPT, posted on X:

“With ChatGPT Go, users in India will get 10x higher message limits, 10x more image generations, 10x more file uploads, and 2x longer memory compared to the free tier — all for Rs 399.”

What’s Included in ChatGPT Go?

Compared to the free plan, subscribers get:

  • 10x higher message limits

  • 10x more image generations

  • 10x more file uploads

  • 2x longer memory

  • Extended access to GPT-5, OpenAI’s flagship AI model

  • Advanced data analysis tools

  • UPI payment support, in addition to credit card

The plan also retains all features of the free version, making it a value-for-money option for casual users and students.

What’s Not Included?

Despite its benefits, ChatGPT Go does not include access to:

  • GPT-4o (real-time multimodal AI model)

  • Sora, the video creation tool

These features remain exclusive to ChatGPT Plus (Rs 1,999/month) and Pro (Rs 19,900/month) subscriptions.

How to Subscribe?
  • Log in to your ChatGPT account.

  • Tap on your profile icon.

  • Select “Upgrade Plan” → “Try GO”.

  • Pay via UPI or credit card.

  • Users can cancel anytime without penalty.
