In a powerful stand for justice, a father in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, handed over his own son to the police after catching him red-handed dismantling a stolen e-rickshaw. The act, though painful, is being widely praised as a message that no one is above the law.
Son Caught Dismantling Stolen RickshawThe incident occurred in Shahpur Kala village, where 25-year-old Deepchand was secretly cutting parts from a stolen e-rickshaw in a nearby forest, around 500 meters from the village. A local tip-off reached his elderly mother, who immediately rushed to the spot with family members.
The Father Took ChargeUpon finding Deepchand at the scene, his father Mahilal took matters into his own hands. Despite his son's attempts to escape, Mahilal managed to detain him with help from the family, loaded the dismantled vehicle parts, and took Deepchand to the police station.
At the station, Mahilal made a clear and bold statement:
Police Confirm Prior Crimes“My son has committed theft. He should be punished.”
After questioning, Deepchand admitted to stealing the e-rickshaw from Anand Vihar. The police registered a case, arrested him, and presented him in court the following day. He is known to be a drug addict and frequently visits Delhi. Authorities revealed that three prior cases are already registered against him, and his criminal history is being verified across other police stations.
Villagers Applaud the Courageous ParentsThe firm yet painful decision of Deepchand’s parents is earning praise in the community. In an age where many defend wrongdoings by loved ones, this family’s zero-tolerance for crime is being hailed as a rare and courageous example of accountability.
