In a major move that is set to disrupt the electric scooter market, Indian EV manufacturer Zelo Electric has launched the Knight+, currently the country’s most affordable high-speed electric scooter. Priced at just ₹59,990 (ex-showroom), the Knight+ offers a robust feature set typically found in much more expensive electric two-wheelers.
Despite its budget-friendly tag, the Zelo Knight+ doesn't compromise on performance or features. The scooter is powered by a 1.5kW electric motor, enabling it to reach a top speed of 55 kmph. It’s equipped with a 1.8 kWh portable LFP (Lithium Ferrous Phosphate) battery, which offers an impressive range of 100 km on a single charge. Additionally, the battery is thermally safe and can be conveniently charged at home.
In terms of features, the Knight+ is surprisingly well-equipped. Riders get a Follow-Me-Home headlamp, USB charging port, cruise control, and hill hold control — features rarely seen in this price range. Drum brakes are present at both ends for effective braking. The portable battery also adds to the practicality of the scooter, allowing users to easily charge it indoors.
Design-wise, the Knight+ opts for a clean and minimalistic appearance. It features a forward-sloping front apron housing a large headlamp and LED turn indicators, along with a single-piece seat and a sharp rear profile. Customers can choose from two single-tone colors — Glossy White and Glossy Black, or four attractive dual-tone options — Matte Blue-White, Matte Red-White, Matte Yellow-White, and Matte Gray-White.
Bookings for the Knight+ have already begun at all Zelo dealerships, and deliveries will start from August 20, 2025. With this new launch, Zelo Electric now offers four electric scooter models in India — three low-speed models (Zoop, Knight, and Zaeden) and one RTO-approved model (Zaeden+).
Zelo Electric’s co-founder Aditya Baheti shared insights during the launch, stating, “The Knight+ is designed specifically for everyday Indian riders who want performance, convenience, and silence in their ride. Our LFP battery, along with safety enhancements like Hill Hold Control and Follow-Me-Home headlamp, are all crafted for real-world usage.”
This launch strengthens Zelo Electric’s position in India’s fast-growing electric two-wheeler segment and presents a compelling option for cost-conscious consumers looking for value and reliability in an EV.
