The situation in Georgia is very pathetic. This is what an Indian female tourist says. In her post on Instagram, she has tagged many people including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the official handle of the Ministry of External Affairs, External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, Indian Embassy, celebrity Curly Tails who has been honored by PM Modi. She has said that she was made to wait for five hours in the bone-chilling cold weather without food and toilet.

'56 Indians had to face inhuman conditions at the border'
In this case of abusive treatment of Indian tourists, Instagram user Dhruvee Patel (@pateldhruvee) alleged that 56 Indian travelers had to face inhuman conditions at the border while entering Georgia from Armenia. He said that despite showing valid e-visa and documents, the officials kept them waiting for several hours at the Sadakhlo border.

Waiting in the freezing cold without food and toilet
According to Patel, the Indian group was made to wait for more than 5 hours in the freezing cold without food and toilet. The officials confiscated the passports for more than two hours. The travelers were made to sit on the roadside like 'cattle'.

The officials treated her disrespectfully by saying that the visa was 'wrong'.
Regarding this worrying incident in Georgia, Indian woman Dhruvi also alleged that the officials recorded videos of the tourists in a manner as if they were treating criminals. When someone in the group of tourists tried to make a video, they were stopped from recording. She said, without checking the documents properly, they were treated disrespectfully by saying that the visa was 'wrong'.

The treatment meted out to Indian people in Georgia is shameful and unacceptable.

Among those who shared their experiences, one user wrote, "This is not the first time this has happened; Indians have been treated like this in Georgia for a long time." Another asked, "If this problem persists, why do Indian tourists continue to visit such a country?"

Indian people have been treated disrespectfully on many occasions
Many comments also pointed towards alleged racial discrimination in this country. People say that the Georgian government has been discriminating against Indians. According to another user, he had heard similar stories about six years ago in 2019 while entering from Russia. He got entry easily and the journey was pleasant. However, he also accepted that Indians have been harassed many times in the past several years.
