Boudh: In a case straight out of a mystery thriller, a woman in Odisha presumed dead stunned police when she suddenly came back to life on Friday.
The bizarre event was reported from Girasinga village, where Lakshmipriya Nayak’s husband had filed a missing complaint about 2 days ago. After an extensive search, police found the 35-year-old woman unconscious near her house last night. Suspecting foul play and mistaking her condition for death, some police officials stood guard at what they believed was her body through the night. However, to everyone’s astonishment, she suddenly woke up and sat upright as a scientific team arrived at the spot the next morning to begin investigations.
She was then taken to the district headquarters hospital, where medical staff confirmed that she was completely healthy.
According to sources, the woman had collapsed during a heated argument with her husband. Following which, the husband hid her under a pile of garbage and lodged a missing complaint to mislead police. While locals have questioned how the police could declare someone dead without medical examination, a detailed probe has been launched into both the circumstances of Lakshmipriya’s disappearance and the apparent lapse in the procedure.
