Mumbai: Choreographer-filmmaker Farah Khan recently visited yoga guru Baba Ramdev’s ashram in Haridwar for her cooking vlog and the humorous banter between them is unmissable.
While taking Farah around his sprawling ashram, which includes meditation centres, cottages, and scenic views for relaxation and spiritual growth, Ramdev remarked, “Humne logo ke rehne ke liye bana rakhe hai mahal, aur apne liye jhopdi. (We’ve built palaces for people to stay in, and a hut for ourselves).”
Farah quipped, “To aap aur Salman Khan ek hi ho. Vo bhi 1BHK me rehta hai aur banayein hai mahal sab ke liye (So you and Salman Khan are the same. He also lives in a 1BHK and has built palaces for everyone else.)”.
Ramdev, bursting into laughter, agreed with Farah’s observation. “Haan, ye baat to sahi hai. (Yes, it is correct).”
The yoga guru gave Farah a tour of his sandalwood-scented jhopdi and joked, “This one is a bit more stylish.”
Looking at the stone-built structure, Farah quipped, “Baba, please gift me such jhopdis.”
Ramdev explained, “This is made of stones from Jodhpur. No chemicals have been used to build them.”
Ramdev said that despite the comforts around him, he sleeps on a simple mat on the floor.
“I joined Gurukul at 14, bringing bhiksha for nearly 40 people. Since then, sleeping on the ground and living simply has been my way,” he explained.
Ramdev added that he wakes up at 3 am, and meditates for 10-12 hours.
He said: “You must be going to sleep at 3.”
Farah laughed and clarified, “No, I go to bed early and wake up at 6 am.”
