Andre Onana has shown his resilient mindset following his departure from Manchester Uniteddespite failing to deliver three points in his Trabzonspor debut. The on loan goalkeeper found himself on the losing side against Fenerbahce on Sunday, with the Turkish Super Lig clash finishing 1-0 to the second-placed outfit courtesy of a Youssef En-Nesyri strike just before the interval.
Now, a behind-the-scenes clip has surfaced showing the shot-stopper voicing his determination in the changing room during the break. Trabzonspor centre-back Okay Yokuslu was sent off in the 20th minute following a reckless challenge on Fenerbahce forward Kerem Akturkoglu, forcing his side to battle with 10 men for over an hour. Despite this, Onana refused to allow the setback to dampen his enthusiasm as he was captured rallying his teammates during their half-time interval.
In footage shared across social platforms, the keeper can be heard shouting: "We have to win this game for him," before declining to accept Yokuslu's apology for the red card, gesturing dismissively whilst declaring: "No need for sorry."
Numerous supporters responded beneath the clip, expressing their astonishment at Onana's reaction and display of leadership within a squad he has only recently joined. One wrote: "He's here to win."
Another commented: "He'll find himself there," whilst a third added: "Go to where you're valued." One supporter even claimed: "Manchester United almost ruined him."
Not everyone was impressed by Onana's rousing speech, with one frustrated supporter noting: "All this to lose 1-0."
Another said: "Dude you just got here wtf," whilst a third added: "I've been in many changing rooms over the years... this looks to me like he interrupted the captain's team talk. However it went down, this is not a good look for him."
Whilst the majority of fans appreciated Onana's intervention, he couldn't hold Fenerbahce at bay for long, as he pushed away a strike from former United midfielder Fred just before half-time. While he made the original save, Onana failed to clear the ball from danger and reacted sluggishly to the follow-up effort that En-Nesryi scrambled home from close range.

Even though the defence was woeful for the goal, it represented a moment the shot-stopper would prefer to forget. This blunder overshadowed what was an otherwise encouraging display from Onana during the remainder of the match, as he pulled off eight stops against Fenerbahce on his debut.
This disastrous beginning will probably already be out of the 29-year-old's mind as he targets better performances going forward while on loan away from United. The goalkeeper was allowed to depart Old Trafford this summer following the club's deadline-day deal for youngster Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp, with Ruben Amorim convinced Onana will progress away from the intensity of the Premier League.
Discussing his decision to allow Onana to depart temporarily, the United boss said: "We saw Andre had a very, very good season in Inter. The quality is there, but we are in the club sometimes, in the moment, things are getting harder and harder. And you can be really experienced.
"But in this club, the pressure is sometimes so hard on every detail. Sometimes you need a change. I think we understood that he needed a change. Sometimes it's hard to point why. It's the performance, the moments. The bad luck in some moments was hard on him, and it was hard on us. Our thinking is to have a change in the goalkeepers.
"I wish the best for Andre. He was really good at working, trying to help the players. Sometimes you can have all the quality in the world, but sometimes you need to change the environment to return to your level. That was a feeling, not just from us, but also from Andre."
